We have had a rough April in our house, lots of illness, Kevin traveling a lot and just some personal health issues (everyone is fine, just not public info). I'm glad to see April go, I'm ready to see what May has to offer! I'm hoping the silly saying is true, "April showers bring May flowers." The closer it gets to the end of our journey, the harder it is to wait, but I guess that goes for a lot of things. Unfortunately, when life at home is tough anxiety creeps in and I wonder how I am going to handle two toddlers when I can barely manage the one I have. As sweet as Macey is, she is a handful, and I know Xander will need some special attention that I am not even aware of. I'm ready to just be excited with anticipation of bringing our son home!
I fully believe that illness, anxiety and fear are Satan's way of attacking me, and my only defense is Christ. I am confident that the one that is in me is greater than the one that is in the world (I John 4:4) so I press on. I just had no idea what a roller coaster this adoption process would become.
If you are wondering how to pray, please continue to pray for a speedy process. There are still a few places that could hold us up, so pray that we don't have any delays. Specifically that our Travel Approval (TA) would come very soon, Monday would be great! :) One of our most earnest prayers has been that the Lord will be preparing Xander, in a way only He can. The transition has the potential to be VERY tough on him. We also ask that you pray for the preparations that we need to make at home, some of that is just making room for one more child, and some of that is getting Macey ready to be a big sister. Our little firecracker is about to get her world turned upside down!
So, like I said, I couldn't be more happy to see the end of April. Yes, it is one more month that I didn't get to spend with Xander, but (playing Pollyanna) it is one month closer to when I finally get to hold him!!!
